Savannah Cat Generations.

As a savannah cat breeder we focus on developing what we feel is the best savannah cat generations as pets, the f2 savannah cat.  Below you can find info on the generations of savannah cats that we work with.

F1 Savannah Cat Generation – The f1 savannah cat generation is the first generation of Savannah cat resulting from a cross of normally a later generation savannah cat (typically an f6 or f7) and an african serval cat.  F1 Savannah cats are the largest of all the savannah cat breed generations and typically are 50-62% serval, depending on the generation of the queen used in the breeding.  F1 Savannah cats are definitely not lap cats, and while good pets are less personable and loving then the lower generations.  F1 males are 17 to 25 pounds, standing approximately 16 to 18 inches at the shoulder and 22 to 24 inches from chest to rump. F1 females are 13 to 19 pounds.  An f1 savannah kitten for sale ranges in price from $15,000-$20,000 per kitten.  This high cost is associated with very small litter sizes and overall difficulty when breeding a smaller, lower generation Savannah cat with an African Serval.  Litter sizes range from 1-3 kittens and therefore the cost is higher then other savannah cat generations.  We do not breed F1 savannah kittens for sale as we focus on F2, F3 and F4 generations since they make much better pets than the “wilder” f1.

F2 Savannah Cat Generation – Our favorite generation of the savannah cat by far! The F2 Savannah cat generation is the second generation of Savannah cat resulting from a cross of normally an F1 Female and an F6 generation male.  F2 Savannah cats are typically 25-32% African Serval and still have an incredibly “wild look” but more of a domestic house cat temperament.  The f2 savannah kittens for sale look very similar to an F1 but are often better family pets.  They are loyal to their owners and will follow up nearly everywhere.  They are fairly easy to harness/leash train and will come when called.  When their owners are out of their site, they will often call for them in.  They are extremely large, friendly, and can be vocal with their owners.  F2 savannah cat males are 16 to 25 pounds with some reaching as much as 30+ pounds. They measures 15 to 18 inches at the shoulder and are 20 to 22 inches long. Females range from 12 to 16 lbs and can reach even 20-22 pounds. F2 Savannah kittens for sale range in price from $6000-12,000.00 depending on male/female and breeder/show or pet quality kittens.

F3 Savannah Cat Generation – The F3 Savannah cat generation is the third generation of Savannah cat resulting from a cross of normally an F2 Female and an F6 generation male.  F3 Savannah cats are typically 12-15% African Serval and still have a “wild look” with a domestic house cat temperament.  Our f3 savannah kittens for sale look very similar to an F2 but are smaller and often better family pets.  They are normally equally friendly to their owners and strangers alike, and while not being a “lap cat” they certainly do enjoy human companionship and company.  They can be harness/leash trained and will often learn to come when called.  When their owners are out of their site, the f3 will often call for them.  They are extremely large, friendly, and can be vocal with their owners.F3 males are 14 to 20 pounds, stand approximately 14 to 17 inches at the shoulder, and are 18 to 21 inches long. This is still a very large frame for a cat.  Females range from 10 to 13 pounds. F3 savannah kittens for sale range in price from $6000-12,000.00 depending on male/female and breeder/show or pet quality kittens.

What is an “SBT”

The SBT Savannah is at least 4 generations removed from the Serval but is a “pure Savannah” having only Savannah breedings for at least 3 generations. This is advantageous as the SBT is more consistent in type, size, and his or her temperament can be predicted easier.
